About

Szczepan Twardoch (b. 1979) is a writer, author of best-selling novels: Morphine (2012), Drach (2014) and The King (2016) and The Kingdom (2018). His literary output comprises also the journal Wieloryby i ćmy (2015) and the volume of short stories Ballada o pewnej panience (2017). 


His most recent novel – Pokora (2020) has instantly became a literary phenomenon in Poland.


Rights to his novels have been sold to over a dozen countries. 


TV series based on The King premiered in November 2020 at Canal+ network.

Honored with numerous prestigious awards, including the Brücke Berlin-Preis, Le Prix du Livre Européen, Nike Literary Prize - Readers Award, and nominated for several more.

The premiere of The King in the United States took place on April 21st 2020. A TV-series based on the novel is being produced by Canal+ network.

He lives in Pilchowice, Upper Silesia.
